Sand, Soda, and a Twist of Lime An all-Colorado, all-glass invitational art show
Artists' reception: Saturday, May 17
Public reception: Saturday, May 17, 2-4 p.m.
On display: May 9-July 19
Works by 38 outstanding contemporary glass artists are on display in the Canyon Gallery May 9- July 19 in this show that includes works representing virtually all types of contemporary art glass, from blown vessels to architectural panels and fused glass. Professional glass artists throughout the state have been invited to show work that pushes the limits of glass technology and demonstrates how glass has evolved from craft to fine art.
The show’s title, “Sand, Soda and a Twist of Lime,” is based on a formula for glass, a medium that combines with extreme heat and creativity to create colorful, light-infused works of art. The show is a natural match for the sun-filled Canyon Gallery.
The exhibition is supported by the Boulder Public Library, the Boulder Arts Commission, and D&L Stained Glass.
